About Valerie and Creative Way Out of Work

Valerie Bean spends her work days writing instructions for software applications, documenting business processes, and clenching her jaw in boredom and frustration. To alleviate the potential for TMJ and other chronic stress disorders, Valerie turns to creative writing. As Valerie Poulin, she has published poetry and creative non-fiction in literary periodicals, micro-press journals, and anthologies.

When not writing fiction, Valerie likes to write non-fiction articles. She has seen her work published in newspapers, magazines, and online.

Her corporate and freelance writing website has samples of work; her on-going fictional work “Letters to My Girlfriends” is published online;  she has a poetry playground at the Canadian Poetry Association’s website and a home for her non-fiction work at Another Writing Project.
